What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapists (OTs) are licensed, graduate level health professionals that serve a wide variety of populations including but not limited to people with physical disabilities and cognitive differences, pediatrics in schools at clinics, older adults,  folks with mental health challenges, the vocational rehab setting and providing home health therapy. They are uniquely trained in task analysis and looking at their clients as a whole person to achieve health, well-being and participation in life through engagement in occupation, or, your life activities.

OT interventions can look very different depending on the population and setting the therapist serves but all OTs aim to support clients in doing the things they need to do, want to do and are supposed to do.
